‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Cast Reunite To Recreate An Epic Gandalf Scene & Fans Are Losing It

Disney star and Hollywood actor Josh Gad has been getting celebrities from everywhere to virtually come together in the middle of the pandemic to reminisce about life.

But, the Reunited Apart series wouldn’t be complete if Josh didn’t get some of the actors from one of the biggest and most popular movie trilogies of all time – nothing less than Peter Jackson’s cast for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, nearly seventeen years after the curtain dropped on the final film back in 2003.

So, Gad decided to get Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom and rounded it off with the incredible Sir Ian McKellen.

Across a four-minute clip, Gad tries to get the cast to commit to an onscreen reunion, which is a bit amusing considering that they’re literally onscreen together after nearly two decades. This was followed up by Elijah Wood channelling his inner Frodo alongside McKellen’s Gandalf – swooping in at just the right time to enact one of the trilogy’s most iconic scenes.

Frodo says: “I wish the ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened.” In a line that stirred up memories for thousands of fans (particularly with McKellen’s unforgettable baritone), he uttered: “So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide, All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.”

Naturally, fans fell over themselves in excitement.

Fortunately for them, they’ll be able to catch a full-fledged digital reunion come this Sunday:

Many of us can’t wait to tune in, through the lockdown we’re sure that rewatching the LOTR trilogy is something you fantasy fans have been considering, and there’s no better time than this weekend for it.

We still can’t over McKellen’s timing though – after all, ‘A Wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
