Dune star Timothee Chalamet suits up at Robin in an awesome new concept design for Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
We know that Robert Pattinson’s The Batman will include some of the Dark Knight’s most iconic allies like Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Gordon. However, there’s been no word on if The Batman will feature the cinematic return of Robin. While Robin has been seen in live-action recently on DC Universe’s Titans, the Boy Wonder hasn’t been in a movie since 1997’s Batman & Robin.
One of the tricky parts about bringing Robin into live-action is portraying him at the right age. Many believe Chris O’Donnell’s Dick Grayson as a college student was too old. Timothee Chalamet is 24-years old and could still portray a high school student who needs a parental guardian to Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, who is nine years older. Only time will tell on whether Robin will appear in Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy at all, but this new fan art by digital artist Dalton Barrett shows off why Chalamet should play the DC Comics hero.
How old do you think Robin should be if he appears in Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy? Sound-off in the comments section below!
Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. Following the Dark Knight during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector, The Batman will also make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous live-action adaptations. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Timothee Chalamet and The Batman, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!
