Multnomah County supports masks, but 'will not enforce' state's mandate

PORTLAND, Ore. – On Wednesday, a mandate requiring face coverings at indoor public places went into effect for seven Oregon counties. Governor Kate Brown’s mask requirement comes as the state is seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases. Leaders in Multnomah County, one of the seven included in the requirement, said they support the science that shows face coverings can help protect people from getting or transmitting COVID-19 to others nearby.
